The Projects Specialist is responsible for all aspects of project delivery, from leading the strategic direction of projects to liaising with stakeholders and ensuring the operational excellence of project deliverables. The Projects Specialist will be supported in the delivery of projects by the Content & Graphics Unit, a team of Marketing Officers, external agency and freelance resource, all managed by the Resource Manager who will be a key point of contact for the Projects Specialist. As the project lead, the Projects Specialist must have the ability to analyse complicated briefs, find the opportunity in challenges and identify risks. You’ll be a motivated self-starter and a people person able to motivate a team and build effective working relationships with colleagues and suppliers.


Key Activities

1. Work with the Marketing Projects Manager and Business Relationship Manager to keep up-to-date and informed about the marketing requirements across the business

2. Plan, manage and implement projects that align with flydubai objectives, ensuring suitability to the operational environment of the airline and assuring the business of the improvements and benefits

3. Identify key stakeholders, ensure organisational alignment and form multi-disciplinary project teams

4. Lead the project teams, co-ordinating and chairing meetings, recording and circulating minutes and tracking action points

5. Ensure transparency of working processes with key stakeholders, manage expectations and deliver to timelines

6. Monitor and track the progress of projects ensuring that all project stakeholders and resource are kept up-to-date with status updates, identifying opportunities and risks

7. Manage agency resource in respect of project deliverables, timelines and quality of work

8. Work with the Resource Manager to secure the necessary internal, agency and freelance resource to create project teams, ensuring on time and on budget delivery

9. Monitor and manage the output of the project team, identifying risks and finding solutions to any issues that present themselves during the project

10. Feedback on performance to the Resource Manager at the close of each project in order to identify areas for development and performance management

11. Support departmental processes by utilising all of the appropriate forms, systems and procedures

12. Ensure that quality control systems and processes are strictly followed for all project deliverables

13. Be responsible and accountable for delivering all project KPIs - time, cost and scope



Minimum Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent


Marketing professional with 6-8 years’ experience

Experience of managing large multi-disciplinary projects is essential

Agency experience is preferred

Knowledge / Skills

Proficiency in MS Office applications including Microsoft Excel

MS Project, or experience of an equivalent project management tool, is desirable

Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and external suppliers

Ability to work under pressure

Ability to multi-task

Ability to meet deadlines

An understanding of the latest design software and printing techniques would be useful
